A look into the future

I ran across this website, and it is pretty interesting. I uploaded a picture of Steve and I, and below is the result. These are 4 pictures of what our future child is going to look like. I will have to remember to come back to these pictures in a few years and see how close they were to being right.

Overwhelmed

Yesterday I was in a somewhat grumpy, irritable mood, and last night I figured out what is it. I am completely overwhelmed. By the evening of the 9th I have got to have 3 bedrooms and a living room completely empty of furniture, So Monday morning Wally the floor guy can start sanding my wood floors. The floors are going to take 3-4 days (sanding, staining, and pol lying). My house is going to be a disaster. After that is done I have to vacuum the walls of all dust, touch up the paint in the living room and hallway, Repair the walls and paint the guest room. Then the fun part.Buying, painting and putting in base boards throughout the house.Sure...I can do all that in 30 days. Also in those 30 days I have a haircut and 2 doctors appointments.

Of course none of this involves the baby's room, except the floors. I need to repair the walls in the baby's room. Steve and I need to agree on paint color(s)which will be interesting, then base boards. Being that this is out first child I do not even know where to start when it comes to buying furniture, strollers, clothes, and every other necessity that comes with having a child. When do I need to start buying these things? Is there a time line to follow? This is the stuff that keeps me up at night, and the stuff that I stress about during the day.

Yes, I could delegate projects out, but when I am in the mind set to get something done...I want it done yesterday. So, we will see how things go and if I can stay on my 30 day time frame for floors and paint.

Baby Room

Here it is. The baby room. Obviously nothing has been done to this room since we moved into the house. I was using this room as a little sewing room. All the big furniture has been removed and the sewing machine has been put away. In just a few weeks we will be exposing and refinishing the wood floors that are under the carpet (that is going to be a mess). That right there will make a huge difference to this room and the entire house. The floors are something I have been wanting to do for some time now, and there is no reason to put it off any longer. We have got to start transforming this room into a bay room. Getting rid of that old carpet is a great place to start.

Week 16

Looking fat...feeling fat. That is where I am at. Although I have gained one pound total, I feel like a two ton Tessie, and I am only 4 months along. Who knows how I will feel when I am 7-8 months along. I still do not look pregnant, but a few people have told me that I am starting to show. To me, I look I have been hitting the donut cart a little too hard. 2 weeks ago I found some pants in my closet that are size too big, and already this week they are starting to feel snug.

My headaches have subsided, and I am sleeping better. At night I am completely surrounded by pillows to keep me from rolling onto my stomach in the night. I have 5 pillows. Who needs that many.

Week 15

This has been a pretty good pregnancy week. I have had a few run ins with nausea, but nothing some Saltine crackers won't fix. I noticed on Monday that my pants defiantly getting tighter, and a co-worker told me today that I am starting to show more that I did on Friday.I feel like I am constantly eating which is hard for me since I had trained myself not to snack during the day.So, that has been an adjustment.

Hastily Speaking

I think I may have spoken hastily when I said I had no more food aversions. In just the last few days, I have had some near misses with food smells and tastes. Here are a few that drive me near over the edge. Steve's Clam Chowder that he likes for dinner. Someone's microwave breakfast at work. It is every-morning. I have to close my door. And just the other day I accidently bit into a piece of onion. I almost had to excuse my self from the table and make a run for it. It had been under-control for last few weeks, but all of a sudden it has gotten worse. I will make it.... even if it is with my nose plugged 50 % of the time.

Week 14

I fell like I have been pregnant for some time now, but alas I am only in my 14th weeks. My only complaints these days are mid-day exhaustion and mild off and on headaches. I waking up every night for several bathroom runs but otherwise I’m a happy camper. No more sickness and no more food aversions. The feeling of thirst is always with me and water is the only thing to cure that. The bad thing about that is I get really thirsty at night, which means more bathroom runs throughout the night.
Here are some Week 14 Stats

Baby's Length: 3.25-4 in.

Baby's Weight: 1-1.50 oz.

Baby's Size: Peach

14 Week Checkup

Today I had my 14 week check up and things went great. It was pretty straight forward. The usual question, answer time, and checking for a heartbeat. There was ONE strong heartbeat about 140bpm. That was Steve's question when he called me this morning to see how my appt went " There was only one heartbeat right?"
Next I need to make an appointment to have my blood drawn to check for Downs syndrome. Steve and I talked about it briefly this morning. We are not scared or nervous that it will show possibilities of downs, but it is what it is. If it comes back that there is a strong possibility then that is what we will be leaving it at that.
4 weeks to go until my next Dr appointment and 6 weeks until my next ultrasound. Steve and I have still not decided on whether to find out the sex of the baby or not. I know that I am still indecisive about it, not too sure on what Steve is thinking. I guess we have 6 weeks to figure it out.

week 13

So far so good. My energy level is starting to pick back up, and I am starting to love food again. I still have a few bad mornings, but all in all I am starting to feel normal again.
I am still holding out on maternity clothes. My pants for the most part fit okay when I am standing, but after sitting for a while they are start cutting into me, and they are undone after eating. It seams like I am always adjusting them. Poor baby has no room, because I refuse to go and buy clothes yet.
Steve and I have traded places. Lately i am the one who is hot all the time, when it is used to be to other way around.
Next week we have another appointment and I am looking forward to it. A little reassurance that things are on track is always good.
I am a stomach sleeper, and ever since I became pregnant I have been trying to train myself to sleep on my side. It is not that easy, so now I am a side stomach sleeper and it is working okay. The last few nights I have wondered on to my stomach, and it seems I can not sleep that way anymore. Even this morning I was talking to Steve and went to lay on my stomach on the bed, and the moment my stomach hit the bed there was a small pressure. I miss sleeping how I want. I k now.....just wait...it only gets worse and less comfortable. Maybe Steve will let me cut a hole in the mattress.
