30 week check-up
This morning was my 30 week check-up and it was great. The baby's heartbeat was bouncing between 145-150 bpm. The only thing is my iron is a little low, so on top of my prenatal vitamins, and I need to take an iron supplement. Everything with me is right on track. My weight gain is right were it should be, a nice 20 lbs.
Now that I am at 30 weeks my appointments will be every 2 weeks instead of every 4 weeks. Things are moving so fast. I can not believe this pregnancy is almost over. Just 10 weeks to go and our sweet baby girl will be here. She is moving around much more frequently and I love it.

Progress
We finally started painting the baby room. That is some bright pink, but it is so cute and it matches the bedding perfectly. The window and closet wall are going to be green. It is going to be soooooo cute, I love it. Over the weekend we were able to pick up the crib, so the sooner we get this room painted the sooner we can get the huge crib box out of my living room, and get the crib put together.

Baby's first Neil Diamond Concert.
The concert was great. I love Neil Diamond and so did the baby. She was all over the place. Her favorite place of course was right on top of my bladder. Almost the entire show there she was dancing around. It was a good show but I could not fully enjoy it. My back started hurting after sitting in those stadium seats, my legs were uncomfortable since there was no place for me to put them up, and of course the bladder kicking. I was constantly shifting on my seat. I am still glad I was able to go , since i do not think he will tour again. After everything it was a good evening.

Week 28
With only 12 weeks to go I am feeling pretty good. My feet are still a little swollen, my back starts hurting if I sit in one place to long, and sleep is become less and less. I the middle of the day I feel like I could crash, and when I get home at night all I want to do is sleep. The last few nights I have been so tired I crawled into bed at 8pm and had no problem falling asleep. Then 1 am rolls around and there I lie....wide awake, and the baby is awake too which does not make it any easier to fall asleep. I am sure it is only going to get worse, but it sure makes it hard for me to function at work the next day.
I really have no room to complain. This has been a really easy pregnancy, and I am grateful for that.

Finally !!!
Steve felt the baby move last night. We were sitting on the sofa watching a movie when she started dancing. It was perfect. She kicked his hand 3 times.

The Final Stretch
Today is the official start of my 3rd Trimester. Thus far my pregnancy has been pretty easy going with no major worries
Stats:
I have been pregnant for 189 days or 27 weeks
I have 91 day to go or 13 weeks
I have gained 16 lbs
Sweets are my thing right now and they never were before
I am always warm..and if you know me I am usually always cold. I would wear sweater in the summer time if it were socially acceptable.
Tostada Wednesday at Cafe Rio is my favorite day of the work week.
A lot of the time I think I can still do the same things I did before I was pregnant like leaning over the counter to reach something on the other side, lie on my stomach, lift heavy things.
My stomach sticks out further than my chest
Things are going great and we are starting to get excited and nervous.

Tiny Dancer
Last night was crazy. I have never felt the baby move so much before. It had to have been near 2am when I work up to the baby doing all kinds of somersaults, kicks and flips. Later in the early morning she was doing it again. I had a small piece of cake with milk around 6 pm the night before, so I do not know if it was the cake or what.
It was just the craziest and the most amazing thing ever. She seems to always be moving when Steve is asleep or not in the room with me. The other night I was up in bed and Steve was in the basement. She was going crazy, so I lifted up my shirt, and my belly was dancing. Just when I went to call for Steve she stopped. I told Steve about this and he seemed a little disappointed that he did not get to feel/see her. He has every right to feel that way. I guess I will just have be at his side at all times. I am sure he will love that.
It is always so reassuring to me when I feel her move. I love it.

Kind Gesture?
Over the weekend my neighbor told me I did not look pregnant.....I just look like I have gained weight.
Not sure how to take that.

Baking Bread
My feet are so swollen today. I am wearing a pair of flats and it looks like bread baking out of my shoe .So gross. I guess it will be flip flops the rest of the day.

Gain
I would say for the last 3 months I have stayed far away from my scale, and when I am weighed at the doctors I look the other direction. I do not feel like I have gained a lot, and I do not think I look like I have gained much either, such as in my face and legs. When eating I try to eat well, but on occasion I do splurge. For some reason this morning I thought it to be a good idea so get on the forbidden scale. Once I got on I started to rethink my actions. Then....I looked down and did the calculations. 14 lbs I have put on since this journey started back in June. 14 Glorious Roley Polly pounds. I know that this trend is only going to continue, but with the holidays here I hope that I can control myself a little better than I have been doing. Not only am I afraid of the weight gain itself, I am terrified about the weight I will have to lose once the baby is here. I want to be that person that gained 15 lbs during the pregnancy, but looses 20 when the baby is born. Shannon has challenged me to run a 5k with her in 2010 and I fully intend to take her up on this, and I am sure she will not me get away with not doing the 5k at all.
So here is to my 14 lbs and let hope I can stay under an additional 10lbs in the coming months.

Week 26 Check-up
This morning I have my 26 week check-up and everything looked great. She had a heart rate of 135 bpm, and we both look to be right on course. I also had to do my Glucose test. The drink was not that bad, it was having nothing to eat all morning, and the only thing in my stomach was 10oz of a sugar drink. The baby loved it, she was all over the place. I have no doubts that my glucose test will come back normal.
This last month has been a very easy one. No complaints. Fatigue when I over exert myself, but that is normal. My tune will change when the baby starts getting bigger, and her feet end up wedged underneath my ribcage.
Steve and I have been busy planning the room. We have agreed on the crib, and dresser set, bedding, wall color. He seems to be getting a little more excited, now that I am starting to show more, and starting to look pregnant. The other day we were in his favorite store....Costco, and there was a little girl about 3 riding on the little rocking house we have out the house. He got a smile on his face, and turns to me and smiled because the little girl had red hair. It was sweet. She is going to be daddies little girl.

Week 24 * 6 Months
I am feeling really good this week. My only complaint is that I am not totally in maternity pants. I can still wear my regular pants, but can not button or zip them the entire way up, and my maternity pants are still a little to big since my belly has not completely popped yet. The baby is moving around a lot all day and all night long. She is an acrobat. I going to have to get her into gymnastics.
Also, I cut out all soda. I drown myself on water. I cut out caffeine when I found out I was pregnant. I really miss Diet Coke. However, I do steal a sip here and there when it is offered to me, but I never have my own.
Steve and I have started looking at and picking out furniture, bedding's, playards, strollers ect... It is really starting to settle in on him now. Soon we can pick out the paint for the baby's room, and start getting that together.

It's a GIRL !!!
There is no mistaking this one. There she is in all her glory. We did not care what sex the baby was, and now that we know we are both really excited. This will be the first grandchild for both families, and both families are very excited and looking forward to her joining us. Hope she like hugs and kisses because there are going to be a lot of them.

New baby picture
Starting on the right hand side. You see the baby's head then moving to the left is the nose. They chin is tucked into the chest, and the rump is in the air, with the legs towards the head.
In the beginning the baby did not want to cooperate, but in the end the baby gave in and let us get a picture.
My amnotic fluid levels were up to a 13, which is right where it should be. According to all the measurments the baby weighs in at 1.5 lbs with a due date of March 6, 2009 making me 23 weeks 5 days. They babys growth is a week ahead of where I am on the calander. Heart bpm was 142.
Everything looks great and right on track.
And yes....we were able to find out the sex of the baby, but I am a mean person and I am going to post that later and make you wait.

Love taps
This last week I have been feeling a lot more fetal movements. They have been a lot more frequent and intense. Along with that, some (50%)of these kind loving taps or jabs have been my bladder. I already have to go to the bathroom all the time due to an increase in my water intake, but these kind and loving taps only make the urge more frequent and more urgent. Shannon...you probably see me waddling my way to the bathroom at a fast pace all the time now. These movements are always very reassuring to me, so I welcome them when they are present.
Already the baby is letting me now s(he)loves me with these love taps to my bladder.

Class
Did anyone else take a Childbirth Education Class? My Dr. suggested it, and gave me a schedule. Is it worth it?
22 week check-up
Everything went fine with the check up. The baby's heartbeat was about 140, which Dr. Frorer said was great. We went over the ultrasound findings from the 20th, and there too things looked good....except for one thing. The ultrasound sonographer said that my amniotic fluid was on on the low side. Of course he said that was nothing to be worried about and is typical between 18-21 weeks. but of course I am nervous now. So, I will go in for another ultrasound in a week and I hope that things look better. Besides the fluid being on the low end, everything else looked great. The heart, brain, lungs, liver...
Feeling the baby moving daily should help calm my nerves some.

Ultrasound
So, my ultrasound has been scheduled and we are set for Novemner 11th. Hopefully we will get some answers, and get to see everything that needs to be looked at.
I will eat lots of suger to get him/her moving for their close-up.

week 20
I am feeling really good. My energy level is back up, and I am doing great. My appitite is back as well. It seems like I am eating all the time. Rarely do I eat a large meal. They are pretty small, just more frequent. The holidays are coming up and I am sure as my appitite contiues to grow my face will be planted in a platter of cookies at some point.
The baby is moving a good bit lately. There must not be too much room for her/him to move around. In the last week the movements has become a lot more frequent, and there is not mistaking the feeling for gas anymore.
At the Ultrasound on Monday Oct 20th, the baby measured at 20 weeks 1 day, which would make me due March 9th 2009.
20 Week Ultrasound
The ultrasound went great with the exception of my stubborn child. Steve and my mom where with me which was great. My mom has never been to an ultrasound before, so she was so excited to experience it and see her first grandchild. One of her favorite views was when you could see all 4 heart valves opening and closing, and the baby's feet. She loves baby's feet. We have decided not to do fetal foto simply due to the cost. We could really use that money to put towards the huge amount of things we need to get prepared for the baby.
The other day Steve said to me that it has not really set in for him. Which is understandable. I am not showing too much yet, so he can not see it in me, and he can not feel the baby kicking. We have agreed on a baby name. We have come up with one for a boy and one for a girl. And no...I will not tell you what they are. Not just yet.

Stubborn

The verdict is in and I already have a stubborn child. We had our ultrasound this morning to find out the the sex of the baby. Well... his/her legs were crossed. No matter what the Ultrasound tech did the get the baby to move we had no luck. So we still do not know, and I am not sure when we will. The ultrasound tech did say what she thinks the sex of the baby is from what she did see, but I am reluctant to say since it is not 100%. I have a ultrasound picture too.
I have a check-up in 2 weeks so I will have more information then. Hopefully we can find out sooner or later. In the last picture notice the toes touching the forehead. BTW....the heart rate was 161.

18 week check-up
Check-up went great. There was a very strong heartbeat, Dr. Frorer was thrilled about that.BPM was about 154.
2 more weeks until we find out the sex of the baby. Now is the time to put in your bets.
Good luck Shannon.

week 18
So far so good. Nausea has subsided, headaches are still sporadic.I am uncomfortable in everything I wear. The straps on my Mary Jane shoes are leaving marks on my fat feet. I feel like a whale. I still do not look pregnant. A male co-worker told me I was becoming shapely, and Steve told me my hips were starting to get wider.

Movement ?
I think I felt my baby move last night. As I paused and reached for the doorknob to go out in the garage I felt a strange sensation. It felt almost like a vibration, or a flutter in my lower abdomen. I only felt it once the entire evening and it was fairly brief.
Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me.

A look into the future
I ran across this website, and it is pretty interesting. I uploaded a picture of Steve and I, and below is the result. These are 4 pictures of what our future child is going to look like. I will have to remember to come back to these pictures in a few years and see how close they were to being right.

Overwhelmed
Yesterday I was in a somewhat grumpy, irritable mood, and last night I figured out what is it. I am completely overwhelmed. By the evening of the 9th I have got to have 3 bedrooms and a living room completely empty of furniture, So Monday morning Wally the floor guy can start sanding my wood floors. The floors are going to take 3-4 days (sanding, staining, and pol lying). My house is going to be a disaster. After that is done I have to vacuum the walls of all dust, touch up the paint in the living room and hallway, Repair the walls and paint the guest room. Then the fun part.Buying, painting and putting in base boards throughout the house.Sure...I can do all that in 30 days. Also in those 30 days I have a haircut and 2 doctors appointments.
Of course none of this involves the baby's room, except the floors. I need to repair the walls in the baby's room. Steve and I need to agree on paint color(s)which will be interesting, then base boards. Being that this is out first child I do not even know where to start when it comes to buying furniture, strollers, clothes, and every other necessity that comes with having a child. When do I need to start buying these things? Is there a time line to follow? This is the stuff that keeps me up at night, and the stuff that I stress about during the day.
Yes, I could delegate projects out, but when I am in the mind set to get something done...I want it done yesterday. So, we will see how things go and if I can stay on my 30 day time frame for floors and paint.

Baby Room
Here it is. The baby room. Obviously nothing has been done to this room since we moved into the house. I was using this room as a little sewing room. All the big furniture has been removed and the sewing machine has been put away. In just a few weeks we will be exposing and refinishing the wood floors that are under the carpet (that is going to be a mess). That right there will make a huge difference to this room and the entire house. The floors are something I have been wanting to do for some time now, and there is no reason to put it off any longer. We have got to start transforming this room into a bay room. Getting rid of that old carpet is a great place to start.
Week 16
Looking fat...feeling fat. That is where I am at. Although I have gained one pound total, I feel like a two ton Tessie, and I am only 4 months along. Who knows how I will feel when I am 7-8 months along. I still do not look pregnant, but a few people have told me that I am starting to show. To me, I look I have been hitting the donut cart a little too hard. 2 weeks ago I found some pants in my closet that are size too big, and already this week they are starting to feel snug.
My headaches have subsided, and I am sleeping better. At night I am completely surrounded by pillows to keep me from rolling onto my stomach in the night. I have 5 pillows. Who needs that many.

Week 15
This has been a pretty good pregnancy week. I have had a few run ins with nausea, but nothing some Saltine crackers won't fix. I noticed on Monday that my pants defiantly getting tighter, and a co-worker told me today that I am starting to show more that I did on Friday.I feel like I am constantly eating which is hard for me since I had trained myself not to snack during the day.So, that has been an adjustment.

Hastily Speaking
I think I may have spoken hastily when I said I had no more food aversions. In just the last few days, I have had some near misses with food smells and tastes. Here are a few that drive me near over the edge. Steve's Clam Chowder that he likes for dinner. Someone's microwave breakfast at work. It is every-morning. I have to close my door. And just the other day I accidently bit into a piece of onion. I almost had to excuse my self from the table and make a run for it. It had been under-control for last few weeks, but all of a sudden it has gotten worse. I will make it.... even if it is with my nose plugged 50 % of the time.

Week 14
I fell like I have been pregnant for some time now, but alas I am only in my 14th weeks. My only complaints these days are mid-day exhaustion and mild off and on headaches. I waking up every night for several bathroom runs but otherwise I’m a happy camper. No more sickness and no more food aversions. The feeling of thirst is always with me and water is the only thing to cure that. The bad thing about that is I get really thirsty at night, which means more bathroom runs throughout the night.
Here are some Week 14 Stats
Baby's Length: 3.25-4 in.
Baby's Weight: 1-1.50 oz.
Baby's Size: Peach
14 Week Checkup

Today I had my 14 week check up and things went great. It was pretty straight forward. The usual question, answer time, and checking for a heartbeat. There was ONE strong heartbeat about 140bpm. That was Steve's question when he called me this morning to see how my appt went " There was only one heartbeat right?"
Next I need to make an appointment to have my blood drawn to check for Downs syndrome. Steve and I talked about it briefly this morning. We are not scared or nervous that it will show possibilities of downs, but it is what it is. If it comes back that there is a strong possibility then that is what we will be leaving it at that.
4 weeks to go until my next Dr appointment and 6 weeks until my next ultrasound. Steve and I have still not decided on whether to find out the sex of the baby or not. I know that I am still indecisive about it, not too sure on what Steve is thinking. I guess we have 6 weeks to figure it out.
